Hair salons?

why are all the hair salons closed on sundays and mondays? (just wondering)Hair salons?
I worked at a salon that was open 7 days, but in general, most salons are open on Saturdays, so instead of a Saturday-Sunday weekend, its Sunday-Monday.Hair salons?
Saturday is when people usually get their hair done, and Sundays are still a weekend, so they can spend time with their families without losing a lot of business. They also take off Monday so that they can have a full ';weekend'; off, and take care of things that can't be done on Sundays, like doctors appointments, school stuff, etc.
I was a hairdresser and salons are closed those days because thats the way that it was in school.(most schools where i live anyway) Tues - Sat open for school and Sun n mondays off. BUT....its not always Mondays. Its just depends how the owner wants it i think....
I live in New Jersey. I can give you a reason why the majority not all are closed on those days. Sunday is the day directly after Saturday. On Saturday the salons are backed because people are trying to look good for the club, a date or what ever. They are usually working late that day. If you think about it most salon workers are club goers themselves. So they need a day of rest. Considering the fact that Monday is the beginning of the week, it's not one of the best days to conduct business for hair stylist. They need a two day off break just like the average 9-5 Mon-Fri workers. Which is why most salons are open from Tues-Saturday. You could always ask a stylist or go to a salon for this intriguing question. It's a good one.
My sister is a hairstylist.....Sundays and Mondays are like their weekend. Most hairstylists work on Saturday for their clients (it's what's convient for the client) and so they don't work on Sunday and Monday
