Would you say BA salon management is a good degree?

I mean do you think its better than studying history - because its more vocational ..? What would you say.Would you say BA salon management is a good degree?
If you plan on managing a salon, then yes. But seriously, you will learn management skills that are applicable to a number of different industries, but you will likely have to do your hard time in a salon first if you wish to aspire to greater things, if that is where you see your path going.

I would also say that you would need to have spent time working from the bottom up in a salon as well before being taken seriously as a salon manager. Don't expect to have no work experience and jump into managing a place where you have no idea of the actual goings on which the day-to-day staff face.

As for history, it depends on what you intend to do with such a degree. I had a friend who did a history degree, and he claims that what you do your dissertation in will mostly guide you towards success from there. For instance, he did his in ';The History of the British Labour Party';, and he is now working in the civil service.

In terms of a history dissertation you can pretty much choose ';The History of....'; in relation to just about anything, which could then be transferred as knowledge of a particular industry or societal structure.
